I love experiencing first! This past Cinco De Mayo weekend, I broke my Las Vegas virginity. My cousin Renada is getting married to the love of her life DeCarlos in August.  I’m one of her beloved bridesmaids (another first for me). In the tradition of pre-marital events, we planned her a fun filled bachelorette party.

CSI: The Experience

CSI team - troubled bride

This bride to be was in trouble. The surprises we had planned for her were just beginning. We took a tour of the Las Vegas strip first and then headed to our crime fighting adventure. At the CSI experience, we were suited up to crack open our case using the same forensic techniques as the t.v. show.  We also solved the case and were rewarded with a certificate and cool pics.

Life of the Party

We were debating which nightlife scene would be our choice as there are many places to cut lose in Vegas.  Easy enough, promoters were reaching out with every vegas hashtag on social media.  Our options for the night were Tao located in the hotel we called home – The Venetian or MGM Las Vegas’s Hakkasan Nightclub. Another bridal party from Canada pointed us in the direction of Hakkasan because the Dj was known to play hip hop. We all wore black/gold while the bride to be wore white. It was a truly epic night filed with table dancing, endless snaps, new friends, VIP invites and a free bottle.

J.Cole concert

It’s fight night in Vegas and Canelo Alvarez Vs. Amir Khan weren’t the only things happening. We headed to The Light Nightclub where J. Cole was scheduled to perform. Ironically on the way in, we see him sitting at a table gambling. Good Luck Cole! I hope we have luck getting a good view of the your show too. We kept it moving heading to the line and were herded in pretty quickly on someone’s guest list. Already lit off the pre-game action at the hotel. We made a stop at the hotpoint video booth before we danced the night away.

Bridesmaids keeping the weekend going.  The night ended with J. Cole killing the stage with a few of his hits.  The crowd’s energy was insane.  We watched from the upstairs balcony of The Light Nightclub before stumbling out of Mandalay Bays lobby back to our suite.

America’s Best Dance Crew

The weekend was nearing and everyone began packing to head back to their respective homes.  Virginia, North Carolina, Connecticut and New York’s bridesmaids came together to give one of our favs a time to remember.  My cousin and I had the entire night left in Vegas since we were booked for the red-eye back to NY.  We gambled a bit, did some souvenir shopping, ate at Wolf Gang Puck’s and went to see Jabbawockeez before catching our 11:30 pm flight out.  The show was great! It was made more exciting when the Jabbawockeez brought my cousin on stage for part in the crowd participation segment. On a natural high, we wearily boarded the plane ready to sleep until we landed back in JFK in the morning. Overall, great experience and I can’t wait to return.  More importantly the bride to be enjoyed herself immensely! Success!
