My urge for a protective style began getting stronger as the summer months progressed. I really needed a hair break! After traveling for the last few months to/from Jamaica, Vegas and Tennessee letting my hair be free, I felt it was time. There’s tons of benefits to protective styling but my favorite is the amount of time it saves getting ready.

Throughout the years I’ve tried many protective styles like buns, wigs, weaves, twists, cornrows and now box braids. The braiding process was shorten by both my Aunts tag teaming my hair. 25 jumbo braids took about 1.5 hours to complete. I used 10 packs of Shake -N- Go Que Premium synthetic hair. At $1.79 per pack the cost of this hair style was $17.79 plus shipping. The texture of Shake – N- Go Que Premium hair is more fine. It is softer than regular kanekalon. The bundles are thin but I was able to get two jumbo braids out of one pack.
I left the style in for 3 weeks and am already planing my next protective style. Any suggestions?
